The Optical unit provides all needs of the National Eye Centre, Kaduna in terms of spectacles and lenses production.
Spectacles are one of the simplest solutions to refractive error;  hence the Unit provides the following services:

• Sales and dispense appropriate frames and lenses
• Parameters taking – frame measurement, centering and de-centering.
• Surfacing and glazing using modern Technology – Automatic Processes
• Proper Leatration and deleatrating Techniques
• Skillful checking and Inspecting lens defects.
• Organizing Optical dispersing services in Community outreach programmes.
• Running of a Certificate Course in “Optical Technicians’ Assistant” (Intensive Training).
