The Federal Government has officially appointed Dr. Amina Hassan-Wali as the substantive Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the National Eye Centre, Kaduna.
Dr. Hassan-Wali, a distinguished Paediatric Ophthalmologist, previously served as the Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee at the Centre, showcasing her leadership and dedication to advancing eye care services in Nigeria. She succeeds Dr. Aminatu AbdulRahman, who had been serving as the acting CMD since November 2023, following the conclusion of Dr. Mamoud Alhassan’s tenure. The appointment was formalized on Monday in Abuja, where Dr. Tunji Alausa, the Minister of State for Health, personally presented the letter of appointment to Dr. Hassan-Wali.

NATIONAL EYE CENTER, KADUNA REITERATES WARNING OVER FAKE APPOINTMENTS AND IMPERSONATION


The attention of the Management of the National Eye Centre, Kaduna (NEC) has been drawn to the activities of a fraudster, Mr. Odinakachukwu Promise Ugwuezouke, who has been defrauding unsuspecting members of the public by falsely claiming to be the Chief Medical Director of the National Eye Centre, Kaduna, or acting on her behalf.

The said fraudster uses the phone number 07014857030 and operates a fake Facebook page via the following link:
https://web.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61585585178358
through which he deceives individuals with fake employment offers, appointments, and other related scams.

The aforementioned phone number and Facebook page do not emanate from the National Eye Centre, Kaduna, nor are they associated with the CMD or the Management of the Centre in any form.

Accordingly, the National Eye Centre, Kaduna expressly disclaims all liabilities for any loss, damage, or inconvenience arising from dealings or transactions with this fraudster or any individual claiming to represent the Centre without proper authorization.

The general public is hereby informed that the National Eye Centre, Kaduna does not offer employment, appointments, or contracts through social media, phone calls, or unofficial channels, and no payments are required to secure jobs or placements at the Centre. Members of the public are therefore strongly advised to desist from engaging with job racketeers or impostors claiming to be officials of the National Eye Centre, Kaduna.

In view of the foregoing, the Management of the National Eye Centre, Kaduna warns the fraudster to desist immediately from impersonating the Chief Medical Director or using the name of the Centre to defraud the public, or risk facing the full weight of the law.

Members of the public who encounter any suspicious activity or have concerns regarding fraud or impersonation involving the National Eye Centre, Kaduna are advised to report promptly through the appropriate official channels of the Centre or to relevant security agencies.
